The main purpose of building a stockpile is getting staples, that your family will definitely use. So when you need something you don’t have to run to the store and pay high price. And the main purpose of this challenge is to get these items for free. So you can use your money more efficient.
Last week I was lucky to get exactly this. Staples, that my family uses and likes. Shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, that are always welcome to my stockpile. So what did I get?
- Colgate Enamel Health Whitening Toothpaste Clean Mint (4.0 oz / 113 g) $3.99
- 2 Value Packs of Oral-B Indicator Contour Clean Toothbrushes (2 pc) $5.00 each
- 2 Dove Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo (12 FlOz / 355 ml) $5.29 each
Possible Total $24.57
Possible Total up to date $274.86
How did I do it?
Toothbrushes were $4.99 in CVS with 5 ExtraBucks back when you buy one (limit 2). 2 Coupons $1 off one from PG 2/28 actually made them a moneymaker.
Dove Shampoo was on sale $6 for 2 in Right Aid. I used $3/2 Dove Hair Care coupon from RP 3/20 and got 300 Plenti Points back when buying 2 (like $3, limit 4). If you had more coupons then I did you could get 8 bottles of shampoo for free.
Toothpaste was $3 in Walgreens with $1.50 back when you buy one. $2 coupon, that I printed in advance also made it a moneymaker.
This trip was easy and fast. Since I buy this items all the time I knew were in stores to look for them, and just spend few minutes in stores. In-n-out.
These deals made me think about getting subscription for 3 more Sunday newspapers. Often I can’t make some deals because I don’t have enough coupons. And usually store polices don’t allow to use more then 4 coupons of the same kind. So 4 would be exactly right number. If I will do it I will wait for deals from Groupon, the way I did with the newspaper I get right now.
I also want to remind you, that you don’t have to print all the coupons you see online. But if you see a high value coupon for an item, that you usually use (Like $2 off Colgate coupon) – print it!
So tell me, coupon ninja, what did you get last week? How is your stockpile doing? I’m excited to here about your experience!
